    Employers plan your recruitment season, educators get your students in front of the top hiring organizations! Our Job Fair Listings page includes job fairs submitted by your AAEE member colleagues in multiple formats for optimal planning. Here's how to access the list:

    Login to your AAEE Member account (Not a member? JOIN AAEE now for access!)

    Navigate to the Job Fair Listings page, listed under the Member Portal section

    STEP 3
    There are multiple ways for you to check out upcoming member fairs:  

    Map View (shown above)
    Check out the job fairs closest to you or on your recruitment travel route with our interactive map feature. Click on any of the indicators to see details of the job fair listing including links to event/registration.

    Calendar View
    Under the Map View are our traditional event listings. Defaulting to the Calendar view, you can scroll through each month and click on the events one by one for additional details. 

    From this view, you can toggle between Calendar and List views and also change the time frame from Week, Month, or Year.

    From each listing you can add the event details to your work calendar. Click on Add to my Calendar to download the event.

    The American Association for Employment in Education is excited to present our new webinar series, THIS IS US. This series will highlight one AAEE member school system each month, including a live 30 minute webinar open to all. Attendees will learn about the district, including employment opportunities, and be able to interact with a district representative during a Q&A segment. 

    Previous webinar recordings will be available on our website for those who are unable to attend. This is a unique opportunity for our members to showcase what makes their school system special. In turn, universities and colleges will be able to provide their future educators with first hand knowledge about districts across the United States, including the representative to contact should they wish to learn more.

    We piloted this series in December 2017, featuring the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. For the New Year, we begin with Canyons School District from Sandy, Utah — join us for their presentation on Wednesday, January 24th at 3pm ET. Stay tuned for a full schedule of presenters.     AAEE Members are invited to submit an article for consideration for the next edition of the Job Search Handbook for Educators. The deadline for submitting the article is Friday, February 16, 2018.

    We seek articles between 250 and 1,000 words. Short articles are welcome! Here are some tips:

    • Write specifically for future teachers. The Job Search Handbook is widely distributed to student teachers who will soon be applying for their first full-time teaching jobs. Our goal is to provide them with information to make them as confident as possible.
    • Make the article conversational. We appreciate and want data-supported articles, but provide your data in a conversational format. Consider including your information as a “To Do List,” a “Top Ten” or “Top Five,” a series of FAQ’s, or a quiz. Think about how you would present this information to student teachers if you were addressing them in person.
    • Use current data and resources – please do not cite resources that are more than three years old.

    You are welcome to submit an article that covers any aspect of the teacher job search.

     If we accept your article, you, as the author:

    • Bear full responsibility for the content; opinions expressed are not necessarily representative of AAEE;
    • Confirm that the article has not been published or submitted elsewhere;
    • Grant AAEE the right to use this article in 2019 Job Search Handbook and other AAEE publications and/or media;
    • Understand the editorial committee reserves the right to edit the article to fit the Handbook’s style and continuity.

    Dear Colleagues,

    The American Association for Employment in Education is excited to introduce our new Executive Director, Tim Neubert. Hailing from Aurora, Illinois, Tim brings a wealth of human resource experience, plus extensive knowledge of education related technology, specifically in a K-12 setting. 

    You may know Tim from one of his many leadership roles in the education community, including his time as Board President of the Illinois Association for Employment in Education. He has also held roles at the Illinois Association for School Personnel Administrators (IASPA), Illinois Small College Placement Association (ISCPA), American Association of School Personnel Administrators (AASPA) among others.

    Thank you, Amy. Colleagues, I believe strong relationships are critical to the success of our education system. Prior to joining AAEE as its next Executive Director, I created and encouraged these connections both locally and nationally as a human resources professional for several Illinois school districts and then as a HR solutions product manager for Frontline Education. As Executive Director, it will be my honor to serve AAEE in ensuring successful and long-term relationships among members, partners, sponsors, and the greater education community for the achievement of our mission and goals. I look forward to the opportunity to meet and/or speak with each of you over the next year about how we can work together in this effort.

    You can expect to hear from me on a regular basis, but I would like to take this opportunity now to remind you of these important activities happening this month:

    Please join the American Association for Employment in Education in a round of applause and expression of deep gratitude to our Executive Director, Deborah Snyder. 

    In the nearly 3 years under Deb’s leadership, she has helped AAEE:

    • Upgrade our infrastructure
    • Enhance our tradition of substantial annual conferences and fairs
    • Build new partnerships and stronger collaborations
    • Develop engaging and consistent communication channels
    • Implement new initiatives such as webinars and a strategic, comprehensive approach to membership development
    • And stabilize our financial status by increasing our assets by 57% after two fiscal years                         

    Everything Deb worked on, every project she completed, every connection she made, was of impeccable quality and brought credibility to the association and its mission.

    2017 AAEE National Conference and Education Career Fair

    The American Association for Employment in Education is holding their 84th Annual National Conference & Education Career Fair in downtown Pittsburgh, PA from October 24-26. AAEE connects professionals who prepare educators with those who hire them.

    AAEE is excited to be here in Pittsburgh and anticipates another great conference and Job Fair. The Job Fair registration has more than doubled in the number of recruiters as well as the number of candidates attending from last year’s conference; says president Derek Jack, AAEE President and Career Director, Brigham Young University, UT

    We are so excited that you will be attending the AAEE Education Career Fair in Pittsburgh, Oct. 26. Over 100 employers will be recruiting this year and are eager to meet you. While career fairs can feel intimidating, this is NOT one of those events! Please come to gather info and get familiar with the process of interacting with employers. Recruiters are ready to share info about their organizations, the application process, and career opportunities. Interviews will be available as well. Please encourage your education friends to attend—even if they don’t register. Walk-ins are welcome!

    Here are some tips to help you prepare for your trip to Pittsburgh:

    PARKING -  Limited valet parking options are available at the hotel for $30 per day. Additional self-parking options with more economical rates are available at surrounding public garagesAddress: Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown, 600 Commonwealth Place, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.

    CHECK-IN – Candidate Check-in begins at 2:30 p.m. on the 2nd floor of the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown. The doors to the exhibit hall will open to candidates at 3:00pm and will stay open until 6:00pm. You may come and go as you wish.

    WIFI - Free wifi in job fair and meeting spaces.

    CAREER FAIR APP – Download the “AAEE Conference Plus” app from Google Play or iTunes for the up-to-date list of Employers and other Career Fair news. NOTE: The app includes 2 events, the Career Fair and Conference. Tap More, Change Events, to ensure you’re in the Career Fair app!

    WORKSHOPS – Free power sessions from experts in the field will be held at 3:154:00, and 4:45.

    PROFESSIONAL HEADSHOTS – Dan Elias, professional photographer, will provide free headshots for attendees.
